
PAGE MP Kevin Hogan has announced a $20 million upgrade for 31km of the Clarence Way between Bonalbo and Urbenville.
"The Clarence Way is a critical route connecting the Bonalbo and Urbenville communities however the road is currently in exceptionally poor condition." Mr Hogan said.
"This upgrade will see significant safety improvements including pavement widening and strengthening as well as drainage and delineation improvements.
"Importantly, the upgrade will ensure locals, businesses and other road users get to their destination safer and sooner."
Kyogle Council Mayor Kylie Thomas was thrilled with the announcement.
"Kyogle Council has worked tirelessly to highlight the absolutely key role that the Clarence Way plays in connecting our communities and businesses, and thanks the Federal Government for providing this critical funding support," she said.
"The upgrade will benefit locals each and every day - making each trip safer and more comfortable and also kickstarting further community growth and development".
The Australian Government is providing $16 million or 80% of the project cost through the RRUP, Kyogle Council will contribute $4 million in co-funding.
