The Northern New South Wales resident held one of the two division one winning entries in Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw

A man in flood-ravaged Lismore, who was initially adamant he hadn't won a cent in a recent Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw, has had his world turned upside down after realising he'd actually won more than $1 million.

The Northern New South Wales resident held one of the two division one winning entries in Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 4176 on Monday and took home $1,006,576.45.

Speaking with an official from The Lott this morning, the elated winner confessed he didn't think he'd won anything when he first checked his ticket after the draw .

"Holy mackerel!" he yelled. "I can't believe this. I checked my ticket after the draw but obviously didn't look closely enough.

"Mate, I am currently shaking like a leaf. You dream of winning your whole life, and then for it to actually happen, it's mind-blowing.

"I can't wait to share it with my children and have some security for the rest of my life."

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4176 on Monday were 23, 1, 19, 16, 40, 43, while the supplementary numbers were 7 and 38.

Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4176 - both from New South Wales.

The Lott's division one winning tally has now reached 377 so far this financial year, including 123 won by NSW Lotteries customers. In 2021, Monday & Wednesday Lotto created 97 millionaires across Australia.
