Strike force detectives have charged a man over the alleged stabbing death of a teenage boy in Casino.
It's the second stabbing death in the town in the space of a month.
About 1.20am Saturday, emergency services were called to a home on McDougall Street, Casino, after reports of a stabbing.
Officers from Richmond Police District attended and located a 17-year-old with stab wounds to his neck. He died at the scene.
A crime scene was established, and a search was conducted of the surrounding area, with assistance from the Dog Unit.
Local detectives formed Strike Force Linford to investigate the circumstances surrounding the boy's death, with the assistance of State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.
Following investigations, detectives arrested an 18-year-old man at a home in Casino about 10:40am on Sunday.
He was taken to Casino Police Station where he has been charged with murder.
The man was refused bail to appear at Lismore Local Court today (Monday).
A crime scene was established at the man's home after his arrest and continues to be forensically examined.
