A new Light Storm Vehicle and Storm Trailer have been delivered to NSW State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers at Casino to support ongoing flood operations.

Minister for Emergency Services and Resilience and Minister for Flood Recovery Steph Cooke said the $220,000 worth of equipment will enable SES volunteers to undertake more tree, roof and pumping jobs.

The state-of-the-art equipment being handed over features LED emergency lights, an extension ladder fixed to the roof, electric brakes and a removable winch.

SES Commissioner Carlene York said the new assets would greatly increase operational and response capability.

Casino Unit Commander Karen Rea said the new vehicle and trailer were a welcome boost to the Unit's resources.

"The last few months have been extremely busy for our unit. With only 26 members, we have responded to more than 490 requests for assistance since the beginning of the year," Ms Rea said.
