The case against the man alleged to have murdered German backpacker Simone Strobel in Lismore 17 years ago has been adjourned until March next year.
The Director of Public Prosecutions asked for more time to prepare the case against Tobias Friedrich Moran.
In a brief committal hearing before Magistrate Jeff Linden in Lismore Local Court on Wednesday, December 14, the case was adjourned until March 15, 2023.
Moran has been charged with the murder of Simone Strobel in Lismore in 2005 and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Strict bail conditions apply to Moran, who is required to report to police at his home in Perth three times a week.
Mr Moran will continue to be excused from appearing before the court when it's mentioned again in March.
Moran was arrested in July this year and charged with murder and acting to pervert the course of justice.
He was extradited to NSW to face court where he was granted bail.
Apart from reporting to police three times a week, Moran is not allowed to communicate via any encrypted websites as part of his strict bail conditions.
Wednesday's committal hearing was the third time it has been mentioned in Lismore Local Court.
