Wind the pages back to July 2010 for part one of this jam packed month and it was around the time Julia Gillard as prime minister was headed back to the polls to learn her fate. The state government was funding a $12.8 million locust fight with aerial spraying on the agenda for most of the state. The SA Farmers Federation was assisting growers during a mice plague with seeking funding from the government. Events in July included the Livestock and Transporters Association of South Australia conference, a Poultry in Schools competition, the Upper North Farming Systems celebrated 10 years of sustainability and innovation in agriculture and Mundulla had a happy hour. Up on the rails heifers made an average of $473 at Naracoorte and steers hit $665 with a yarding of 351 head. Stay tuned for part two of this month in the coming months.
