It is a month to the day since the last flood left Lismore devastated, and businesses that reopened after the flood have been forced to pack up once again after the Bureau of Meteorology predicts the Wilsons River will overtop the levee on Tuesday afternoon.

Motorhomes set up at Lismore Centra Tourist Park have been moved to higher ground, banking hubs in Browns Creek car park have been moved, and all of the recovery centres have been packed up and moved.

It is heartbreaking. Hours of hard work may yet be undone.

One man in South Lismore was frantically trying to jumpstart his car, a car that replaced one lost just a month ago. He was devastated, as are most of the people of Lismore, to be facing another major flood so soon.

It is a cruel blow for a community desperately trying to recover from a record flooding event.
