The clubs are sharing the money generated by a sports lunch which featured tennis legend Pat Rafter along with Australian cricket royalty in Greg Chappell and Jeff Thomson.
South Lismore Bowling Club board member Dave Knight thanked all involved and said they will use the funds to buy some green maintenance equipment lost in the February 28 flood and would re-sheet the walls of the clubhouse.
Lismore Rugby Union club president Peter Everingham has big plans to put the money to good use.
They will purchase a canteen on wheels (food truck) and a mobile bar so the items can be moved quickly when necessary.
