There were many happy faces at the Square today. And a few emotional ones as well.
It was to be expected. It's the first time Lismore Square has been fully open to the public in four months.
Centre owners McConaghy Properties said it marked an incredible milestone for the Northern Rivers community.

"Since the devastating floods that inundated the Lismore region on the 28th February, the team at McConaghy Properties have taken just over 100 days to repair and reinstate the shopping centre to return this vital piece of community infrastructure.
The McConaghy Properties team along with their contractors, building partners and retail partners mobilised immediately after the floods with an unwavering focus to reinstate Lismore Square as quickly as possible. With a dedicated team of 80 people working on-site seven days a week to rebuild Lismore Square the enormous task of centre reopening has been achieved in record time.
"We are so proud of the work of our team and our partners have delivered, and we all look forward to reopening Lismore Square and welcoming back our retailers, customers, and the entire community. The team has been exceptional, and I can guarantee that Lismore Square will never have looked so good", CEO of McConaghy Properties, Gary McConaghy said.

"My team and I would like to thank customers for their patience and support during construction. We're excited to offer them a new shopping experience with a great fresh offering and the convenience they are looking for.
"The transformation is remarkable, comparing what the store looked like in the aftermath of the floods to now. It's exciting to see the investment at the store and customers will notice the fresh look and feel, with brand new floors, walls, fixtures, fittings, and signage throughout.
"Customers will also find great value on quality products to help their shop go further, and our team is here to help make recommendations or offer inspiration for what to cook using fresh seasonal ingredients."
"It's great to see another business reopen after the 28 February natural disaster. I would like to thank Woolworths management and its staff for working so hard to make it happen. The reopening of Woolworths is an important milestone on Lismore's recovery and rebuild", Lismore City Mayor Steve Krieg said.
