Norco bosses welcomed a last minute reprieve for workers this week, meaning employees will have jobs for the next 10 weeks. But, they said the recovery process will continue long after that.

Norco CEO Michael Hampson said it was hoped two production lines at the ice cream factory in South Lismore will be up and running by Christmas, but could not put a date on when the entire factory would be back up and running.

Politicians, union officials, and the media were taken on a tour of the factory this week, to show the level of damage caused to the facility, and the progress made in the recovery.
While gleaming stainless steel equipment was testament to the work already done, empty rooms and still muddy conveyer belts indicated there was still a lot of work to be done.
Staff however, were able to take pause for a few hours last Friday to celebrate the reprieve, and to reflect on what they had achieved so far.
