For Khotori Davison, it was the perfect birthday present - a day off school and the chance to meet one of his idols, a champion Nitro World Games star.

Khotori, from Caniaba, turned 11 on Monday and was "stoked" to meet Ryan Williams, a four-time Nitro World Games winner and four-time X Games gold medalist, during a promotional visit for the Nitro World Games.
"Ryan Williams is my No.1 scooter and BMX rider in the world. I'll ask him for some tips on how to flair into bowl, and do a backflip," he said.
Ryan was visiting the Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre skatepark where he was joined by BMX Olympic Gold medal winner and 10-time X Games medalist Logan Martin, and three-time X Games medalist Jaie Toohey.
The riders spent the afternoon signing autographs, performing tricks and riding alongside a huge crowd of fans.
Organisers of the event said Lismore City Council had invited the team to Lismore to help promote and encourage young kids and action sports athletes.
They said there was a big action sport scene in the region, with "scooter riders everywhere", so bringing one of their heroes like Ryan to town was a great opportunity to "allow kids to focus on what they should be focusing on, which is enjoying their time on a bike or a scooter, and to provide a level of opportunity to meet and see their heroes and inspire them".
As well as promoting the upcoming Nitro World Games in Brisbane, Logan said they hoped to "bring the hype up" for kids in the Lismore area who had been impacted by the flood.
He said it was awesome to see so many kids at the skatepark who were into action sports.
"The kids are super, super cool. They are easy to chat to and they're stoked that we are here. It's awesome that we can do that for the kids and inspire them," Logan said.
His advice to any aspiring future stars was to remember to enjoy it and have fun along the way.
"Definitely have fun along the way. I still enjoy every single bit of it, that's what keeps me going, to progress and keep pushing my own level. Just enjoy it, that's what I do," Logan said.
Part of putting smiles on the faces of the kids was giving away merchandise and tickets to the Games in Brisbane, where 80 of the best action sport athletes in the world will perform before a crowd of 25,000 people at Suncorp Stadium.
The biggest jump, the longest ride, and the best trick were some of the ways to earn a ticket to the show, with organisers giving away "between 50-100" tickets to eager fans.
Brothers Billy, 9, and Jackson, 12, Keys of Caniaba were just as excited to meet the Nitro stars as their friend Khotori.
"Ryan is my dream person I would like to meet. Even though I have already met him, this will be my second time, it will be the best thing ever," Jackson said.
Even better than meeting Ryan was winning tickets to the event on October 22-23, with the boys heading to Brisbane after scoring tickets.
The boys said they were "so stoked" before scootering off to perform some more tricks.
