Northern Rivers businesses have been the big winners at two big award ceremonies this week - with SimplyClean and Contained in Nimbin Accommodation recognised.

The state's peak business organisation, Business NSW, has had a huge week, rolling out the NSW State Tourism Awards on Wednesday night and the NSW State Businesses Awards on Thursday night - both hosted at the White Bay Cruise Terminal in Balmain, Sydney.
Regional Director for Business NSW Jane Laverty was proud of the achievements of local businesses.
"It has been an amazing achievement for the Northern Rivers with six Golds at the State Tourism Awards and backed up with another two major award wins at the State Business Awards with and Excellence in Small Business going to SimplyClean from Lismore and Outstanding Start Up Business for Contained in Nimbin Accommodation," Mrs Laverty said.

The event was attended by Premier Chris Minns, Small Business Minister Steve Kamper, as well 500 people representing more than 130 businesses.
"Contained in Nimbin Accommodation did a double win with their Gold gong for Best New Tourism Business keeping company with their Outstanding Start up Business Awards.
"The Business Awards program shines a light on the hard work, tenacity and innovative mindset of business leaders and their teams and celebrates their achievements and what is possible even in challenging economic times.
"The achievements of the regions businesses have been especially impressive in the face of the challenges facing business like spiralling insurance and energy costs, skills shortages and the state's housing crisis."
"The Northern Rivers community wholeheartedly embraces home grown businesses and hard working mum and dad enterprises. Both Simply Clean and Contained in Nimbin Accommodation exemplify this and have done our region extremely proud," Mrs Laverty said.
