After the challenges of the COVID 19 pandemic and the 2022 Lismore flood events, Jodie's Inspiration was very pleased to have its annual charity golf day return to the course in Lismore last month.

The day saw 196 golfers come together in teams to vie for the bragging rights and raise funds for the local charity.
Jesse Smith, chairman of Jodie's Inspiration, was elated with the event and support shown by the community.
"It was fantastic to see this event back in 2023. We continue to be overwhelmed with gratitude for the support of so many throughout the community, particularly our sponsors," Jesse said.
Jodie's Inspiration is a volunteer run and volunteer led and have delivered over $275,000 worth of medical equipment to local hospitals, in support of local patients and their families in recent times.
The charity founder Jodie McRae was a single mother who owned five successful small businesses in the Lismore and surrounding area. Jodie was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of triple negative breast cancer in May 2013.
After being told she was cancer free in December 2013, Jodie was subsequently diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in September 2014.
Despite a poor prognosis she founded Jodie's Inspiration, a not-for-profit organisation. She raised over $100,000 from her first fundraiser and purchased two cold cap therapy machines for a local oncology unit so that patients were given the opportunity to prevent chemotherapy hair loss.
Jodie's relentless public education assisted local women in finding cancerous breast lumps early. Jodie provided support through fundraisers, technological resources and emotional guidance for cancer sufferers.
Sadly, Jodie passed away on October 1, 2016, shortly after winning the Rex Airlines Regional Woman of the Year Award at the 2016 NSW Women of the Year Awards.
Jesse said: "Hosting fun charity events like our golf day allows us to continue supporting local patients and their families in their time of greatest need.
"Thank you to all of the players, sponsors and volunteers who made this year's event so successful. We look forward to seeing everyone on the course again in 2024."
