Investigators have released CCTV images and are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into an attempted abduction in the state's north at the weekend.

About 12:20pm on Saturday, February 24, police were called to a business at Greenway Drive, Tweed Heads South, following reports of an attempted abduction.
Officers attached to Tweed-Byron Police District attended and were told a man attempted to push a 27-year-old woman into a vehicle.
The woman managed to break free and lock herself in a nearby store, with the man fleeing the scene.
Tweed-Byron Detectives commenced an investigation into the incident.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV images of two vehicles seen near Greenway Drive, that they believe can assist with the investigation.
The first vehicle is described as a white Toyota Hiace, with an awning and roof racks.
The second vehicle is described as a champagne-coloured Holden Astra.
Police are urging the drivers of the vehicles, or anyone able to identify the drivers, to come forward.
