There is no doubt it's been a tough time to do business in Lismore since the flood. But a walk around town reveals more and more shop fronts have reopened.
Amongst them are businesses that have rebuilt and reopened after the flood, some that have expanded, and some brand new to the town.
Here are stories of some of the business owners we've chatted to this year.
JAX Tyres and Auto in North Lismore was wiped out in the flood, but franchisee Jeff Nicholls has rebuilt the business and is expanding.
"It's what happens here in Lismore," Jeff said of the floods. "It's been hard at times, but you've just got to try to move on. Which we have done."

The Spotted Pig owner Iohne Simpson always intended to reopen in the CBD, but she wanted to see how the town recovered before reinvesting in a new business.
"It was interesting to see it coming to life again. You want to know that it's moving forward in the right direction, and I definitely think it is. The atmosphere and the vibe - it's really good at the moment," Iohne said.

Juno owners Jazz Bellmaine and Reilly Fitzallen jumped at the chance to own their own cafe in Lismore. The young couple admitted they were a bit anxious about future flooding, but they have a plan to cover that possibility.

The Trident Fish and Grill is a fourth generation family business who are opening a second store in Lismore.
Owner Chris Photiou said: "We've always believed in Lismore. It's a very community-orientated town where the people support each other".

When the Jewellery Design Centre reopened at the Starcourt Arcade, owner Gary Pinkerton said: "It's good for Lismore when businesses are willing to come back to the main part of town".
"Last year it was looking kind of sad down here and there wasn't much happening at all.
"Hopefully it's another incentive for people to come back into town."
