RACING returns to the Northern Rivers with A TAB meeting at the Lismore Turf Club.
There will be six races at Lismore with full bar and TAB facilities available on Saturday, March 23.
Gates open at at 11am with the Member's Lounge open to all attendees.
It will be the first meeting since the country qualifiers were washed out in February.
It is part of the Viva Racing syndicate and will compete in the $1 million country final at Randwick on April 6.
It finished second in an $85,000 Class 6 Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm in Brisbane on March 16.
In other racing, former jockey Cliff Clare died on March 19.
Cliff had a long and distinguished career in the saddle spanning 45 years.
He raced at tracks across the state where he accumulated more than 1500 winners.
He came from a large family in the Hunter Valley where he was the youngest of 10 children.
When he turned 16, his mother took him to the Australian Jockey Club in Sydney to arrange for his apprenticeship after he had heard an advertisement on radio.
Cliff continued riding in races up until he was 62 before retiring and being appointed to the Racing Appeal Panel where he served from 2001 to 2022.
