LISMORE driver David Russell has switched teams after inking a deal with PremiAir Nulon Racing.
It comes after a successful stint with Erebus where he had runner-up finishes with Brodie Kostecki at the Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000.
Russell will co-drive with Jimmy Golding in both endurance events this year.
He came to an agreement a number of weeks ago and was ecstatic to be now able to make the news public.
"I am thrilled to finally announce that I am joining PremiAir Nulon Racing," Russell said.
"Jimmy's performance at Bathurst earlier this year was outstanding, and I am eager to partner up for some fantastic outcomes in the endurance races this September and October."
The 42-year-old has forged a long and successful career as a Supercars co-driver, starring as a leading co-driver in the Supercars enduro season in all but one year since 2010.
He made his Bathurst debut in 2001, competing in his first 'Great Race' in 2003 with Fernandes Motorsport, before going on to drive for Tekno Autosport, Kelly Racing/Nissan Motorsport, Dick Johnson Racing, Tickford Racing, Matt Stone Racing, and Erebus Motorsport.
In that time, he has come agonisingly close to victory on two occasions-standing on the podium in 2021 (third) and 2023 (second), both times while co-driving with 2023 Champion Brodie Kostecki.
He has plenty of Bathurst success to his name outside of Supercars, too-racing to class victories, championships, and overall podium successes in every Bathurst Production Car / GT endurance race format, including two, three, six, 12, and 24-hour distance races throughout his career.
Russell is also one of Australia's most experienced Porsche Carrera Cup drivers, having accumulated more than a decade in the world's fastest one-make motor racing series and gaining 36 Carrera Cup podium finishes in that time and finishing as the runner-up of the series in both 2015 and 2022.
He has also enjoyed much success internationally in GT racing during his career, gaining wins and podium finishes in the ADAC GT Masters in Europe, the Spa 24 Hour, the Sepang 12 Hour and Dubai 24 Hour races.
