Supported by Kyogle Council, the event will be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Amongst the authors attending the event will be the effervescent host of the ABC's Gardening Australia Costa Georgiadis and multi award-winning Bundjalung writer Melissa Lucashenko.
"The Kyogle Readers and Writers Festival showcases the flourishing cultural and creative arts community that we have in Kyogle and villages and attracts scores of visitors from across the North Coast and south-east Queensland," Kyogle mayor Kylie Webster said.
"Council is thrilled to be involved and to help the Kyogle Readers and Writers group host an event that brings so much positive attention to our community."
The three-day event features a free program for primary and high school students, authors in conversations, panel discussions, and a range of workshops on weaving, bookmaking, self-publishing, Zines, and performance poetry.
The headline event on the program will be Costa Georgiadis in conversation with Angela Catterns in the KMI Hall on Saturday at 2pm, with the festival finally wrapping up on Saturday evening with a literary-themed trivia night at the Kyogle Golf Club.
"This is a truly wonderful festival with a little something for everyone and I would encourage everyone to check out the program on the Kyogle Readers and Writers website and get along to one of the many activities on offer," Cr Webster said.
