A woman has received fractures and abrasions after being hit by a B-Double in Casino yesterday.

About 3.28pm on Monday, June 10, a B-Double Kenworth driven by a 33-year-old male driver was travelling in a westerly direction along Dyraaba Street, Casino.

At the intersection of West Street, the truck stopped to give way to traffic before entering the intersection and turning south to travel along West Street.
At this time the pedestrian, a 39-year-old female has stepped from the southeastern curb of the intersection and began to walk across West Street towards the opposite side of the roadway.
The pedestrian was struck by the 'A' Trailer of the turning truck and subsequently fell.
As a result of this incident a multi-agency response by NSW Police, NSW Ambulance, NSW Fire and Rescue, Volunteer Rescue Association and Westpac Rescue Helicopter attended the scene.
The female pedestrian was transported via Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Gold Coast Hospital where she is in a trauma ward in a stable condition.
As a result of this incident, it is reported that she sustained several fractures and abrasions over her body however it is reported she did not sustain any life-threatening injuries.
At this time, she is been held for ongoing treatment and observation but it is reported she will likely be released over the coming days.
NSW Police Forensic Services attended. Scene examined and recorded. Road diversions were in place until 6pm.
The 33-year-old male B-Double driver was taken to hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
