HUNDREDS of pets and their owners flocked to Pet Stock to get a glimpse of popular vet Chris Brown on Saturday. The Bondi vet greeted locals who all bought their beloved pets into the Hattam Street store. Dr Brown fielded questions and posed for photos for much of the afternoon.Pet Stock Bendigo won a national Optimum competition, selling the most Optimum pet food over a certain amount of time. Dr Brown said it was great to say g’day to locals. “We have been meeting everyone hearing about their pets, answering their questions and getting pashed by a number of dogs,” he said.  “That has been a big feature. “There is a lot of affectionate dogs around here.  “It’s been interesting.” Dr Brown said his job allowed him to travel to a range of regional cities like Bendigo.  “Increasingly on the show Bondi Vet we are travelling a lot more,” he said. “The show has been around for a while now a lot of people send in emails and questions and requests for help. “We are more than happy to go out and help people so I do get to see a lot of the country side.” Dr Brown said he does get a lot of people asking him quirky and unusual questions.  “Everyone always says is hard being a vet?” he said. “But people don’t realise you get to hear some amazing things and people for those few seconds when they ask those questions let you into their lives and tell you a lot more than what they think they are going to. “That is the upside.” Pet Stock Bendigo store manager Cameron Hyatt said staff and customers were excited to have Dr Brown in Bendigo. “It has been hectic from start to finish,” he said.  “For our locals they got so much out of it.” To see the video from the event visit www.bendigoadvertiser.com.auKristen.alebakis@fairfaxmedia.com.au
